UPDATED: A worker at Trilith Studios near Atlanta took her own life on Wednesday morning, according to the local police. Sources say the deceased was a female Teamster and was working on Warner Bros.’ 2025 tentpole “Superman.”

The DC movie, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, is filming on the Trilith lot next to another DC project, Season 2 of “Peacemaker.” The incident happened in the crew parking lot.

Officers found the worker in a vehicle with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, said Capt. Austin Dunn of the Fayetteville Police Department. The incident was reported at 6:47 a.m.

“Evidence collected revealed no suspicion of foul play, nor is the investigation connected to any ongoing studio projects,” Dunn said in a statement.

The news began circulating among film crew in Atlanta, one of the most popular hubs for Hollywood productions. The tight-knit Atlanta production community was shaken up and mourning the loss of their colleague. Sources say that when Gunn learned of the situation, he gathered crew to inform them and called production for the day. “Superman” is currently in its final week of production.

Reached by phone, a Teamster business agent in Atlanta said he would not comment “at this time.”

Located near the Atlanta airport, Trilith is a sprawling 1,000-acre campus comprised of sound stages, workshops, offices and backlots and is considered the nation’s largest purpose-built studio complex . Originally known as Pinewood Atlanta Studios, Trilith has been home to a host of Marvel series like “WandaVision” and “Loki” and movies including “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”

Recent productions include tentpoles like Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” and DC’s “Black Adam” as well as Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis.” No Marvel productions were filming on Wednesday.

Trilith is also home to live-audience shows like the latest iteration of “Family Feud.”

A Trilith representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Fayette County coroner also declined to comment.
