Madeline and Quinn Meineke had decided to let their pup sit out their wedding on July 1. The couple believed having her at the venue would be too difficult. However, Madeline was determined to have their furry friend join their celebration, even buying a cute white dress for Dachshund Penny. The bride then decided to keep it a secret and surprise her groom with the dog on the wedding day.
Penny has been a part of their family for quite some time. They welcomed her early on while they were dating. So, Madeline thought having her present on their special day was fitting. Since the couple decided to do their first look outdoors, the bride decided it would be the perfect time to bring in their pup.
On July 1, when it was time for the first look, Quinn turned around nervously, only to find Penny waiting for him. The dog was excited to see the groom, who was pleasantly surprised to see her instead of his bride. Their wedding videographer, Claudia Goodwin, perfectly captured the moment. Moreover, the video garnered over 1.8 million likes and 4,000 comments on Instagram.
Goodwin told Today that having Penny at their first look was a great decision, as it helped calm Quinn’s nerves. The groom was excited yet nervous to see his bride. Having their Dachshund greet him helped calm him down and made the moment more joyful.
