Kirk Cousins says he will not play in the preseason

Falcons training camp is underway as players reported Wednesday and practice began on Thursday. Kirk Cousins spoke to assembled media after practice and said he will not be participating in preseason action as he continues to rehab from a torn Achillies.

Cousins was able to execute basic play formations at practice but there was no hitting allowed. It remains to be seen just how much he can do in live action as he enters to normal recovery timetable for the injury (10-12 months).

The vet QB does not necessarily need live preseason reps in order to go into the season strong, though the weapons around him certainly do. The biggest question remains if he will be 100% by the time Week One roles around.
