‘Say It to My Face!’ Kamala Harris Throws Down the Gauntlet, Dares Trump to Debate

Vice President Kamala Harris taunted former President Donald Trump for refusing to debate her on Tuesday, urging him to give his thoughts about her to her face.

“So, the momentum in this race is shifting, and there are signs that Donald Trump is feeling it. You may have noticed,” said Harris during a 2024 presidential campaign rally in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday evening:

So, last week, you may have seen, he pulled out of the debate in September he had previously agreed to. So, here’s the thing, here’s the funny thing about that. Here’s the funny thing about that. So he won’t debate, but he and his running mate sure seem to have a lot to say about me, and by the way, don’t you find some of their stuff to just be plain weird?

Harris then concluded, “Well, Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider to meet me on the debate stage because as the saying goes, if you got something to say, say it to my face!”

While Trump initially agreed to debate President Joe Biden for a second time in September, those plans fell through after Biden announced he would be withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race this month amid increasing concerns over his alleged cognitive decline.

In turn, Trump announced he would only debate Harris when it became clear she would be the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.

“Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee,” said the Trump campaign in a statement last week. “There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party – namely Barack Hussein Obama – that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone ‘better.’ Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds.”

Harris has repeatedly taunted Trump for “backpedaling” out of the debate, despite the fact that Trump’s debate was technically only ever scheduled with Biden.

While Trump was confirmed as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee at the RNC this month, the Democratic National Convention has yet to take place and Harris has yet to be confirmed as the Democratic nominee.
