The 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship will be in Atlanta in January. But its organizers are looking to do more for Georgia than hosting a major game.

The Atlanta Football Host Committee, the College Football Playoff Foundation, and the Georgia Foundation for Public Education have partnered up to create the Georgia Teachers Initiative to support, engage, connect, and provide resources to Georgia’s PreK-12 teachers

One of the biggest ways it's helping is the Teacher Grants for Innovations, awarding between $500 and $2,500 to Georgia's public school teachers working on projects that will improve learning outcomes and make a measurable impact on their students' lives.

There are monthly rounds of grant funding available with the last one closing on Dec. 15. The current round closes on Aug. 15. Teachers can apply at georgiateachersinitiative.org/grants where they will complete a form that asks for details like what their project is, what they hope to achieve, and photos of teachers in their classrooms.

The initiative offers other resources on its website like discounts on books and software as well as info on upcoming events teachers may be interested in attending.
