Imagine going about your day and suddenly being arrested due to a case of mistaken identity! That’s exactly what happened to rapper T.I .

According to TMZ , the Atlanta rap star was taken into custody on Sunday at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The confusion arose because law enforcement was searching for a man named Clifford Harris, which happens to be T.I.’s real name. However, the warrant was actually for a man wanted in Baltimore, Maryland…

The news outlet reports that the suspect is wanted for alleged involvement in various crimes, including violent behavior toward a woman, stalking, and potential gun-related offenses. T.I. was transported from the airport to Clayton County Jail. Since the warrant originated out of state, he was looking at an automatic extradition hearing. Fortunately, the judge reviewed the case and dismissed the extradition order after T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, contacted the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office to straighten everything out.

T.I. was released within two hours of his wrongful arrest.

Interestingly enough, as TMZ points out, the Clifford Harris who is wanted reportedly weighs 205 pounds, while T.I. weighs only 165 pounds. It was also noted that the complaint was filed on June 13 of this year.

Now, although has had his fair share with the feds and legal problems, he has been pretty clear of trouble in recent months. As of now, T.I. has not yet commented on this latest incident.
