The Atlanta Braves have a great chance of making the playoffs this year but they will not be at full strength.

Atlanta seemingly hasn't been at full strength at all this season as high-impact injuries have popped up left and right. The Braves currently hold a playoff spot, but if the injuries continue to pile up like they have lately, they won't be able to maintain this momentum.

The Braves got some more bad news on Monday as they lost All-Star hurler Reynaldo López to the Injured List due to right forearm inflammation, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

"News this morning: Braves place RHP Reynaldo López on 15-day IL, retroactive to August 2, with right forearm inflammation," Morosi said. "Bryce Elder recalled."

López has been a revelation for the Braves this season. Atlanta hasn't been fully healthy and López has stepped up in the starting rotation. He is having the best season of his career to this point and has a 2.09 ERA in 19 starts.

The veteran hurler earned his first All-Star nod this season due to his brilliance on the mound but now the Braves will have to wait to see if he can get back to the field soon. Any injury involving an elbow or forearm certainly is concerning for a starting pitcher. Hopefully, he is able to recover quickly and help the Braves win more games in the near future.
