Bienville Parish man who evaded sentencing for 3 decades denied new trial
HOMER, La. — A Ringgold man convicted of felony crimes in 1991 has been denied a new trial after evading the law and sentencing for 32 years. Greg Max Lawson, 64, was shuffled into the Claiborne Parish courtroom Monday in handcuffs, shackles and a striped jail jumpsuit. While waiting to get onto the courthouse elevator, Lawson told KTBS, “I’ve seen better days.”

Caddo Council on Aging creating a cool summer with free fans
SHREVEPORT La. - It's not easy to beat the heat in the summertime, but the Caddo Council on Aging is trying to help. The agency is giving away box fans to individuals over the age of 60 who do not have working or adequate air conditioning and live in Caddo Parish.
