    Atlanta Rabbits

    Atlanta’s varsity baseball team has taken on some tough opponents to open the season.

    On Feb. 19, the Rabbs made a late-push comeback in a 4-3 loss to Evangel Christian Academy.

    Eli Dryden and Eli Stevens combined for seven strikeouts and Will Woodruff was 3-for-4 from the dish with a double and an RBI.

    Peyton Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double, Jaden Riley was 2-for-3 with a double, Corban Farmer was 2-for-4 with two ribbies, Easton Owens was 2-for-2 and Peyton Gaston added a double.

    On Feb. 22, the Rabbs fell to Harleton 1-0 in the Elysian Fields tournament. Eli Stevens was masterful from the mound as he gave up only one hit and struck out five.

    The lone run for the Wildcats scored on a pickoff move to first base.

    Will Woodruff had a couple of hits, Eli Mitchell hit a double and Brady Partain had a hit.

    In the second game of the tourney Atlanta fell to host Elysian Fields 2-1. Will Woodruff scattered six hits with seven strikeouts.

    Peyton Harrison, Eli Mitchell, Evan Mitchell, Brady Partain, Easton Owens and Peyton Gaston hit singles in the contest.

    In the third game of the tourney the Rabbits fell to White Oak 3-2. Peyton Harrison struck out three and scattered four hits over six innings and had two hits with a double from the plate.

    Will Woodruff had two knocks with an RBI, Jaden Riley added two singles and Cason Whatley had a hit.

    Atlanta Lady Rabbits

    Atlanta’s varsity softball team opened its season on Feb. 13, against the Waskom Lady Wildcats.

    The game was a short one as the Lady Rabbs scored 15 runs in two innings of a 3-innings contest called on the mercy rule.

    Gabby Arredondo was stellar from the circle as she gave up only one hit while striking out five.

    Tori Clayton was 3-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs, Arredondo had two hits with a double, Keirsten Underwood had a double and an RBI, Kalissa Reliford added a single, Aleesha Parkman added an RBI, Kinlee Hamilton had a couple of hits with two RBIs and Michaela Knight hit a single in the game.

    The Lady Rabbs competed in the Liberty-Eylau tournament from Feb. 15-17.

    In game one Atlanta fell to Winnsboro 9-5 after the Lady Red Raiders scored four runs late in the contest.

    Gabby Arredondo scattered six hits and struck out four over six innings. Tori Clayton was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Kalissa Reliford and Gabby Petrofsky both hit RBI singles and Kinlee Hamilton added an RBI.

    In game two the Lady Rabbs defeated county foe Linden-Kildare 8-4 behind Gabby Arredondo’s 6-strikeout performance.

    Carlajah Adger hit two doubles and posted two RBIs and teammates Aleesha Parkman, Arredondo and Kinlee Hamilton each hit RBI singles.

    For the Lady Tigers, Callie Johnson, Zaliyah Mitchell and Ada Whatley each spent time in the circle.

    From the plate Hannah Wall hit an RBI single, Mitchell had an RBI and Lacy Johnson hit a single.

    In the third game of the tournament Atlanta faced off against host and future district rival L-E.

    The game was short-lived as the Lady Rabbs won 14-0 in three innings of play. Gabby Arredondo pitched a 1-hit shutout with four strikeouts.

    Kalissa Reliford was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Tori Clayton added a single, Arredondo had a single with two RBIs, Carlajah Adger hit a single, Gabby Petrofsky had a single with four ribbies, Kinlee Hamilton added an RBI single, Keirsten Underwood was 2-for-2 with two ribeyes and Sarah Blake hit a single.

    In the fourth game of the tourney Atlanta faced off against the McLeod Lady Longhorns and escaped with a 6-4 win.

    Gabby Arredondo scattered five hits and struck out four and her counterpart Kenslee Cross scattered six hits and struck out nine.

    Tori Clayton was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Arredondo had a couple of knocks, Gabby Petrofsky hit a single and drove in two runs and Keirsten Underwood added a single.

    For McLeod, Cross was 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, Maddie Blair hit and RBI single and Kori Byargeon was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

    In the fifth and final game of the tournament Atlanta blanked Daingerfield 10-0.

    Michaela Knight pitched a no-hitter and struck out four in the process. Tori Clayton hit a 3-run dinger in the first inning and the Lady Rabbs never looked back.

    Kalissa Reliford was 2-for-3, Clayton had the 3-run shot, Brylee Fiscus was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and both Carlajah Adger and Kinlee Hamilton added singles.

    On Feb. 20, the Lady Rabbs banged out 16 hits and dismantled Ore City 14-3.

    Gabby Arredondo was dazzling from the circle as she gave up only one hit and struck out 10.

    Carlajah Adger was on fire from the dish as she went 3-for-5, drove in two runs and fell just a homerun short of the cycle.

    Aleesha Parkman was 4-for-4 with an RBI, Kalissa Reliford hit an RBI single, Tori Clayton was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Gabby Petrofsky added a single with two ribbies, Kinlee Hamilton was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Sarah Blake was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

    On Feb. 22-24, Atlanta hosted the Lady Rabb Classic and absolutely dominated the competition as they finished the Classic undefeated.

    The Lady Rabbits topped Waskom for the second time this season by a score of 17-2, defeated Detroit 11-1, dismantled Ore City again for the second time this season by a score of 18-1, rolled past Union Grove 24-3, beat McLeod by the identical score of 6-4 just like they did a few games before and edged James Bowie 8-7.

    In the Waskom contest Michaela Knight gave up just one hit and struck out five over three innings.

    Aleesha Parkman hit a double and had an RBI, Anna Davis was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple plus two RBIs, Kalissa Reliford was 2-for-2 with two ribeyes, Ashlyn Webb was 1-for-1 with three RBIs, Tori Clayton hit a single and had three ribbies and both Gabby Petrofsky and Michaela Knight hit RBI singles.

    In the Deroit game Gabby Arredondo gave up a hit and struck out five, Michaela Knight gave up one hit and struck out three and Keirsten Underwood gave up just one hit through three batters.

    Tori Clayton hit a triple and collected three RBIs, Aleesha Parkman added an RBI single, Arredondo hit an RBI double, Gabby Petrofsky hit a single and Kinlee Hamilton hit an RBI double.

    The Ore City game was over in three innings as the Lady Rabbs racked up 18 runs. Gabby Arredondo gave up just one hit and struck out three.

    Kalissa Reliford hit two triples and recorded five RBIs, Carlajah Adger hit a double and a triple with three ribbies, Tori Clayton hit a triple and brought in two runs, Arredondo hit an RBI double, Aleesha Parkman was 2-for-2 with one RBI, Gabby Petrofsky added two RBIs, Anna Davis had an RBI, Kinlee Hamilton hit a single and Sarah Blake hit an RBI single.

    In the Detroit contest the Lady Rabbits scored 16 runs in the first inning and plated 24 by the end of three innings.

    Michaela Knight gave up three hits from the circle and Carlajah Adger was 4-for-5 with five RBIs, hit an inside the park 2-run homerun, two doubles and a triple.

    Tori Clayton was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and two ribbies, Kalissa Reliford added an RBI, Aleesha Parkman was 3-for-3 with an RBI, Gabby Arredondo was 2-for-3 with two ribeyes, Gabby Petrofsky was 2-for-2 with one RBI, Ashlyn Webb hit an RBI single, Anna Davis was 2-for-2 with an RBI and both Kinlee Hamilton and Brylee Fiscus hit RBI singles.

    In the game against McLeod, Gabby Arredondo and Kenslee Cross were both dealing from the circle.

    Arredondo gave up nine hits and struck out seven over seven innings and Cross gave up eight hits and struck out eight over seven innings.

    Carlajah Adger was 3-for-4 with two triples and an RBI, Aleesha Parkman hit an RBI single, Gabby Petrofsky was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and both Anna Davis and Kinlee Hamilton hit singles.

    For the Lady ’Horns, Cross hit a double, Taylor Dees was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Maddie Blair hit two singles, Kori Byargeon hit two singles and both Kenzie Grundon and Nyah Dempsey hit RBI singles.

    In the sixth and final game the Lady Rabbs (121) topped James Bowie by a run. Atlanta was up 8-3 and held off a ferocious comeback attempt by the Lady Bucs late in the contest.

    Carlajah Adger has been on fire of late and this game was no different as she missed he cycle by a single.

    Adger hit a 2-run homer, a double, a triple and three RBIs, Kalissa Reliford hit two singles, Gabby Petrofsky hit an RBI double, Kinlee Hamilton hit a double with two ribbies and Anna Davis hit an RBI double.

    Linden-Kildare Tigers Linden-Kildare’s varsity baseball team topped Pleasant Grove 12-5 on Feb. 15.

    Peyton Foreman gave up just one hit and struck out seven over three innings, Landon Farrington gave up two hits and struck out one in two innings of work and Hugh Tyson gave up two hits and struck out four over two innings.

    Keegan Surratt hit a triple, Tylton Surratt hit a single, Foreman was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and both Maysen Lemmon and Tyson posted singles.

    Feb. 22-24 the Tigers hosted its own tournament and beat Sulphur Bluff 10-0 out of the starting gate.

    Logan Hankins gave up just three hits over five innings with 10 strikeouts. Hankins also hit a single from the dish.

    Hugh Tyson added a single with two ribbies, Max Belford was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Landon Farrington had a single with two ribeyes.

    In the second and third games of the tournament the Tigers beat Paul Pewitt back-to-back by scores of 12-4 and 10-3.

    In the first tilt against the Brahmas, Tylton Surratt blanked the Bulls over two innings and rang up five batters in the process and Logan Hankins and Keegan Surratt got some work in from the mound.

    Hugh Tyson was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and two RBIs, Max Belford and Peyton Foreman each added one RBI, Hankins added two ribbies and Ethan Churchman had two RBIs.

    In the second game against Pewitt, Peyton Foreman was solid over five innings as he scattered three hits and struck out 10. He also hit a double from the plate.

    Keegan Salers hit an RBI single, Hugh Tyson added two RBIs and Landon Farrington added an RBI.

    Linden-Kildare Lady Tigers

    Linden-Kildare’s varsity softball team opened its season with a resounding 17-2 win over Paul Pewitt on Feb. 8.

    Callie Johnson struck out five batters over two innings and gave up just one hit, and both Ada Whatley and Zaliyah Mitchell got in some work from the circle.

    Jamaiya Mack smashed a grand slam to straightaway center and also hit a single, Sophia Hampton was 2-for-2 with a double and two ribbies, Kaycee Neville was 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs, Ally- Jo Dixon added a single, Mitchell brought in a run, Breleigh Conejo had a single with two ribeyes, Kalysa Roberts hit a single and Lacy Johnson hit an RBI single.

    On Feb. 9, the Lady Tigers battled New Boston to a 13-13 tie. Allie Watson hit a double, a triple, Hannah Wall was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and one RBI, Kaycee Neville hit a double and had three RBIs, Zaliyah Mitchell added a single, Sophia Hampton was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Lynlee LeJeune hit a double and drove in a run, Ally-Jo Dixon added an RBI and J-Mack hit a single.

    On Feb. 13, the Lady Tigers edged out Sabine 11-9. Zaliyah Mitchell struck out six in the game as she and Callie Johnson split time in the circle.

    Hannah Wall and Kaycee Neville hit RBI singles, Mitchell hit a double and drove in three runs, Allie Watson hit a triple, Sophia Hampton added a single and both Jamaiya Mack and Lacy Johnson hit RBI singles.

    On Feb. 15-17, the Lady Tigers took part in the Liberty-Eylau tourney. L-K opened tourney play with a solid 10-5 win over host L-E. Ada Whatley scattered eight hits and struck out four.

    Hannah Wall was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Lynlee LeJeune was 2-for-4 with a triple and two ribeyes, Kaycee Neville was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, All-Jo Dixon was 2-for-3 with a double and two ribbies, Sophia Hampton was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Lacy Johnson hit an RBI single.

    In game two the Lady Tigers fell to county foe Atlanta 8-4. Callie Johnson, Zaliyah Mitchell and Ada Whatley each spent time in the circle.

    From the plate Hannah Wall hit an RBI single, Mitchell had an RBI and Lacy Johnson hit a single.

    For the Lady Rabbits, Carlajah Adger hit two doubles and posted two RBIs and teammates Aleesha Parkman, Arredondo and Kinlee Hamilton each hit RBI singles.

    In game three L-K fell to county and district foe McLeod 4-2. Callie Johnson scattered 13 hits over six innings with five Ks. Allie Watson hit an RBI triple, Hannah Wall and Lynlee LeJeune hit singles and Kaycee Neville had a pair of singles.

    For the Lady Longhorns, Kenslee Cross gave up five hits over six innings of work and rang up nine batters.

    Cross also went 2-for-3 from the dish with a double and an RBI, Taylor Dees hit a double and brought in a couple of runs, Madison Blair was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Kori Byargeon had a couple of knocks, Mae and Nyah Dempsey hit singles and both Gracie Vick and Kayleigh Whatley hit two singles apiece.

    In the fourth game, L-K beat a tough Winnsboro team 8-5. Kaycee Neville hit a grand slam and a double, Lynlee LeJeune was 2-for-3 with two ribbies, Allie Watson hit a double, All-Jo Dixon hit a double, Hannah Wall hit a double and brought in two runs, Breleigh Conejo hit a single and Kalysa Roberts hit a single.

    In the fifth and final game of the tournament L-K fell to Hooks 13-7. Lynlee Le-Jeune hit an RBI double, Olivia Stewart and Kaycee Neville hit RBI singles, Allie Watson hit two singles and had two ribeyes, Ally-Jo Dixon added a single, Magee Winters posted an RBI, Ada Whatley hit a single and Jamaiya Mack hit a single.

    On Feb. 22 and 24, the Lady Tigers competed in the Paris Chisum tournament. In game one L-K battered host Chisum 14-2 in five innings. Ada Whatley gave up two hits with four Ks and teammate Callie Johnson gave up one hit and struck out two.

    Ally-Jo Dixon smacked a 3-run inside the park homerun and also hit a double, Kaycee Neville was 3-for-4 fell short of the cycle needing a homerun, Allie Watson hit an RBI double, Hannah Wall hit a double, Ashlynn Lee hit a double, Lynlee LeJeune added an RBI, Ada Whatley hit an RBI single and Lacy Johnson hit a single.

    In the second contest L-K rolled by Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill 19-3 in three innings of play.

    Ada Whatley scattered five hits and struck out six and Lynlee LeJeune went off from the dish as she smacked a double, a triple and drove in five runs.

    Hannah Wall also smacked a double, a triple and went all Uber on the Lady Red Devils by driving in four runs, Kaycee Neville hit a single, Allie Watson hit an RBI single, Ally-Jo Dixon hit an RBI triple, Zaliyah Mitchell added a single with two ribbies, J-Mack hit a triple and drove in three runs and Lacy Johnson added a single.

    In the third contest, L-K met up with host Chisum again and the two teams ran out of time tied up at 3-all.

    Kaycee Neville hit a 2-run inside the park homerun, a single and a triple, Kalysa Roberts had three hits with a double, Lynlee LeJeune hit two singles, Hannah Wall and Allie Watson hit singles, Ally-Jo Dixon had two hits with an RBI and Lacy Johnson added a hit.

    In the fourth game, L-K blanked Paris 12-0, behind Ada Whatley’s seven strikeouts and Callie Johnson’s three strikeouts.

    Olivia Stewart hit a double, Lynlee LeJeune was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Kaycee Neville hit an RBI single, Allie Watson had two knocks with an RBI, Ally-Jo Dixon hit a single and drove in two runs, Zaliyah Mitchell and Sophia Hampton added an RBI each and both Whatley and Kalysa Roberts added two RBIs apiece.

    In the final game of the tournament L-K fell to Community 9-0. Ally-Jo Dixon had the Lady Tigers’ lone hit.

    Queen City Lady Bulldogs

    The Lady Bulldogs opened its season by going 5-0 in the Tyler tournament Feb. 22-24.

    In the first game of the tournament, QC blanked Malakoff 8-0 with Trinity Oden pitching a 1-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.

    Mallori Stringer was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Brenna Turbeville and Serenity Oden each hit singles, Trinity Oden was 2-for-4 with two ribbies, Kelli Mainer and Laekin Campbell added singles and Kelsey Nash was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

    In the second game, Queen City beat Hudson 3-0 with Trinity Oden pitching a complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts. Of Oden’s 65 pitches, 57 were strikes.

    Keeli Mainer was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Laurel Moore was 2-for-2 with a double, Oden hit a single, Mallori Stringer added an RBI single and Lauren Carrell hit two singles.

    In the third contest, QC defeated Winnsboro 12-6. Serenity Oden hit an RBI triple, Trinity Oden hit a double, Mallori Stringer hit a double and drove in two runs, Brenna Turbeville was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Laurel Moore added a hit, Lauren Carrell was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Keeli Mainer had a hit and three ribbies and Laekin Campbell had an RBI single.

    In the fourth game of the tournament QC beat 6A power Tyler Legacy 5-2, behind Trinity Oden’s nine strikeout performance.

    Oden hit a double and plated two runs, Mallori Stringer hit a double and drove in two runs and Lauren Carrell hit a double.

    In the fifth and final game QC rocked 5A Pine Tree 11-0, behind Trinity Oden’s 1-hit shutout which produced six Ks.

    Brenna Turbeville was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Serenity Oden was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Trinity Oden added an RBI, Mallori Stringer had a hit with two ribeyes, Lauren Carrell had a hit, Kelsey Nash hit an RBI double and Makenna Hamilton hit an RBI single.
