    Atlanta Rabbits

    Atlanta’s baseball team added another check to its list of goals. The Rabbits have won a District title, a Bi-District and sealed an Area championship after defeating Elysian Fields in a 3-game set last week.

    Game One

    On Thursday, May 9, the Rabbs soundly defeated the Yellowjackets 12-2 in game one of the series called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

    Eli Stevens scattered six hits over five innings with two strikeouts. Peyton Harrison was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Easton Owens was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, Jaden Riley added two knocks with a ribbie, Eli Mitchell was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Cason Whatley had two hits and drove in a run and Brady Partain posted two singles with a ribeye.

    Game Two

    The second matchup was a dogfight. The Rabbs scored a run in the first and kept Elysian Fields off the board until the late innings where the Yellowjackets scored three runs to win the contest 3-1.

    Peyton Harrison gave up just four hits over six innings with five strikeouts. Evan Mitchell recorded two hits with a double and Harrison added a single.

    Game Three

    In the third and deciding game of the series the Rabbs scored four runs in the first frame and never looked back as Atlanta won the game 6-2.

    Will Woodruff pitched a solid game as he gave up just three hits over seven innings with six Ks.

    From the plate, Woodruff was 2-for-4 with a double. Peyton Harrison was 2-for-4 with a triple, Jaden Riley added an RBI, Easton Owens hit an RBI single, Eli Mitchell added a hit, Cason Whatley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Brady Partain hit two singles.

    Atlanta will now face District 13 champion Harmony in the Regional Quarterfinals.

    The Eagles enter the series on an 11-game win streak and have outscored its playoff opponents 60-3.

    Atlanta enters the series having won 15-of-its-last-16 games. Game one against Harmony is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. Game two will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, and game three, if necessary, will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

    All games will take place at Tatum High School.

    Queen City

    Queen City’s softball squad has been on a roll since winning District.

    The Lady Bulldogs won a Bi-District title over Quitman, won an Area championship over Hughes Springs in a very tough series and recently won a Regional Quarterfinal crown with two wins over Mineola.

    Game One

    Queen City dominated the first matchup by scoring 13 runs in five innings to take a 13-1 decision over Mineola.

    Trinity Oden was on form as she gave up just two hits and struck out 10 over five innings of play.

    Oden also stayed hot at the plate as she hit her 10th homer of the season; a 3-run jack in the second frame.

    Lauren Carrell crushed a 2-run homerun, hit a triple and drove in three runs, Brenna Turbeville hit a triple, Laurel Moore was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Mallori Stringer was 2-for-3 with a double and a ribbie, Serenity Oden hit an RBI double and Kelsey Nash added two knocks with a ribeye.

    Game Two

    In the second clash, QC squashed the Yellowjackets 3-1 behind another solid performance from Trinity Oden who sat down nine batters in the fray.

    Oden also hit her 11th homerun of the season, a solo shot, and has struck out 293 batters this season.

    Brenna Turbeville had two hits, Paitynn Weeks added two knocks with an RBI and Mallori Stringer, Laurel Moore and Lauren Carrell added singles.

    The No. 4 ranked Lady Bulldogs will face Whitesboro in a 3-game set in the Regional Semifinals.

    Whitesboro has won 17-of-its-last-18 and has outscored its opponents 45-4 in the playoffs.

    QC has a 17-game win streak and has outscored its playoff opponents 26-4. Game one will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, game two will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17 and game three, if necessary, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

    All games will be played at Paris Chisum High School.
