First-time visitor hits $1.5 million jackpot at Atlantic City's Hard Rock

A $10 bet paid off big time for a first-time visitor to Atlantic City's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The out-of-state gambler won $1,593,457 on the Wheel of Fortune wide-area progressive jackpot

The unnamed player spent $87 during the visit.

Wheel of Fortune slot machines are the nation's most popular, according to slot manufacturer IGT Jackpots.

The jackpot won is among the top five slot machine jackpots won at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City since its opening in June 2018, according to the casino.

The jackpot amount is based on a 20-year annual annuity payout. The lucky winner declined to participate in jackpot publicity.

Hard Rock has 2,425 slots, including a private high-end slot salon, plus 130 table games that include blackjack, baccarat, craps and roulette.
