As the 4th of July arrives, Atlantic City is touting a slew of top entertainment and celebrations to mark the holiday weekend.

NJBIZ has reported extensively on the robust efforts around the resort destination to reinvest in its properties and diversify offerings. That will be on full display this weekend and beyond this summer, according to officials.

“Atlantic City is the best place to be for Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks,” said Mark Giannantonio, president, Casino Association of New Jersey . “From our world-class entertainment, top-notch dining, and exceptional shopping we offer a unique and diverse experience for visitors to stay and play this holiday week and all summer long.”

A wide range of events, concerts, activities and fireworks will mark the holiday. The full list of festivities is available here .

“Our industry is committed to Atlantic City’s ongoing transformation, and our capital investments demonstrate our confidence in the future of this great city, as well as our dedication to meeting the needs of the customers we serve,” said Giannantonio.

    More momentum

The buzz builds on strong second quarter figures, announced by Visit Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Sports Commission , and sets the stage for a successful Q3.

Last quarter, Visit Atlantic City hosted 56 events, conventions and conferences. That generated 50,613 room nights booked and 112,884 attendees, for a total economic impact of $63.7 million.

“Our well-appointed casino resort properties and upgraded amenities ensure that attendees have an exceptional experience, reinforcing Atlantic City’s status as a premier destination for in-person events and entertainment all year long,” said Sieg.

Hard Rock offers some prime examples of the property reinvestment and upgraded amenities going on around Atlantic City. That resort recently unveiled two new venues The Balcony and The Terrace. Additionally, Bally’s is celebrating its 45th anniversary all summer long, building on its $100 million renovations completed in 2022.

On June 13, 2024, entertainment and hospitality provider Spiegelworld welcomed guests to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The Hook at Caesars Atlantic City, located in the refurbished 1929 Warner Theatre. - PROVIDED BY SPIEGELWORLD

Spiegelworld’s The Hook and Superfrico exemplify the diversified and enhanced experiences the city aims to offer, which both celebrated their one-year anniversary at Caesars Atlantic City June 13.

“Behind the stunningly refurbished heritage entrance of the 1929 Warner Theatre, The Hook brought life back to the Boardwalk when it opened 12 months with a spectacular 400-seat theatre containing Atlantic City’s only year-round resident show, its acclaimed Superfrico restaurant, and no less than four unique cocktail bars including Horse Dive Bar, Cheval de Plongee, Tides Out, and the Back Drop,” a June 14 press release put out by Spiegelworld recounted about the ceremony.

Spiegelworld’s Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison told guests that when Caesars reached out about an Atlantic City collaboration, following a successful Las Vegas partnership, the entertainment company knew they were part of a great experiment.

“The shore is known as America’s playground in the summer. But can it reinvent itself with unique offerings to attract locals and visitors alike every day of the year? It was a leap of faith, but the fact that we are here one year later, having entertained thousands of delighted guests throughout the winter, is a sign the experiment is working that others may now choose to follow,” said Mollison.

He credited the success to the talent and creativity of its partners, performers, chefs, cocktail mixologists, and the entire team.

“And now we can’t wait to show a new summer crowd of shoobies what all the local buzz at The Hook has been about,” Mollison added.
