The Humane Society of Atlantic County is asking for the public's help finding a man who keeps dumping dogs there in the middle of the night.

A post by a new Facebook account under a fake name has taken responsibility.

Video posted to the society's Facebook page shows the man walk over to the fence with a dog on a leash at the Atlantic City building.

He then picks up the dog, and drops her over the fence at 1401 Absecon Blvd.The dog falls on her side, and then gets up.

The man walks back to his car, described as a black Cadillac sedan.

It is the fourth dog this same man has dumped, according to the Humane Society.

This time, the dog has distinct scarring on her back, according to the posting.

Atlantic City police put out a press release Thursday confirming they are investigating the case.

Humane Law Enforcement Officer Matthew Schmidt is leading the investigation..

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-347-5766. Information may be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.

UPDATE:

Someone posting as "TheFacts Truthfully" on Facebook gave an explanation for the dumping the dog.

The man tearfully waited with the dog two hours before dropping her over the fence, the anonymous person said in the post that tagged BreakingAC.

In response to a Facebook message, the poster explained that they are not the suspect, but have talked to him.

No one has come forward to police or the Humane Society to take responsibility.

Several people have identified one man. BreakingAC is not naming him at this time since his involvement has not been confirmed and no charges have been filed.
