    5 new restaurants in South Jersey

    Guy Fieri has a new chicken spot at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.

    The brand-new eatery Chicken Guy! celebrated with a grand opening on July 2.

    According to a press release, Chicken Guy! is “known for its fresh chicken tenders, hand-pounded to maximize crunch."

    They can be paired with 11 different house-made sauces.

    The tenders are brined in fresh lemon juice, pickle brine, buttermilk and “infused with herbs for peak flavor and texture," the release said.

    Chicken Guy! will also offer a full bar with a handcrafted cocktail menu. A larger boardwalk bar is slated to open later this summer.

    The concept, developed by celebrity chef Fieri and Robert Earl, offers signature recipes made from all-natural chicken.

    Menu options include Big Bite Chicken Sandwiches like the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ, the Hot Honey, and the Buffalo Mac ‘N’ Cheese.

    The flagship location is at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, with other sites in King of Prussia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more.

    The restaurant is at North Carolina Avenue and the Boardwalk.

    Jalsa Indian Kitchen, Somerdale

    Jalsa Indian Kitchen is a new restaurant in CooperTowne Center.

    The owners want to take you on a visit to Indian when you come to the restaurant.

    The website says “Love from India” and the restaurant’s interior is a love story to India.

    A 25-foot wide digital screen presents photos and videos of India, and there are wall murals, sculptures and more.

    “At Jalsa Indian Kitchen, we believe in showcasing more than just Indian food. Our restaurant is a celebration of Indian culture,” its website says. “The vibrant colors, the warm hospitality and the enchanting music — all combine to offer a truly immersive cultural experience.”

    Menu items include goat curry, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and shrimp tikka masala.,

    There are breads, rice and sides as well as dessert offerings.

    The address is Cooper Towne Center, 711 Evesham Road.

    Oishii Hibachi, Cherry Hill

    This sushi restaurant offers classic rolls, hand rolls, special rolls and more for its guests.

    Popular menu items include hibachi steak, salmon roll, tempura shrimp roll, spicy tuna rolls, and dancing crab stick roll.

    It’s in the Springdale Plaza at 1900 Greentree Road.

    The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    Plaza Azteca, Marlton

    The Mexican chain restaurant will open in the former Bertucci’s location at 515 Route 73.

    It's preparing a second South Jersey site at Voorhees Town Center, and already has a location in Sicklerville.

    Plaza Azteca operates in 10 states.

    The menu includes birria tacos, fajitas, burritos, sweet plantains, empanadas and more.

    It's targeting a market that's seen the departure of several similar restaurants, including Jose Tejas on Route 73 in Mount Laurel at the start of this year, and the Mexican Food Factory on Route 70 in Marlton in 2023.

    Stowaways, Cape May

    Stowaways is a multi-concept dining destination with views of the Delaware Bay at the Cape May-Lewes ferry terminal.

    The dining destination includes three primary locations in the terminal building at 1200 Lincoln Boulevard:

    They are: Stowaways Bar & Restaurant; Stowaways Café; and The Overlook at Stowaways, a catering space for private functions, according to the ferry's operator, the Delaware River and Bay Authority.

    Also:

    Shakes, Vineland had a soft opening in May. It offers protein shakes, boba tea, and protein bowls, as well as healthy energy drinks. 537 East Landis Avenue.

    A-Pot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is coming to The Center at DoubleTree in Glassboro. The all-you-can-eat spot will occupy the former site of Hibachi Grill Buffet.
