(Atlantic) Thousands of bicycle enthusiasts hailing from coast to coast and abroad are traveling across Iowa for RAGBRAI 2024. The trip started in Glenwood on Sunday, spent Sunday night in Red Oak, and headed out on Monday morning through Elliott, Griswold, and Lewis for an overnight stay in Atlantic. (The video posted below is the final two-and-half mile stretch on County Highway G30 into Atlantic)

Dr. Jean Linder, a 71-year-old Physician from Fresno, California, originally from Ogden, Iowa, is on the trip with her daughters.

Ben Danielson, from St. Paul, Minnesota, is riding with his son across Iowa for the second time.

Cooper Danielson is making his first trip across the state with his dad, Ben.

From Phoenix, Arizona, Will is riding with his family and friends for the first time.

KSOM/KS95’s own Sarah Archibald caught up with RAGBRAI riders having a good time in Griswold and Lewis this morning. They were most impressed with the large flag and the goats.

It is estimated that there are about 17,000 registered riders, five to ten thousand non-registered riders, and others on the route. The cyclists will depart Atlantic on Tuesday morning. The participants are set to ride 82 miles to Winterset, passing through Wiota, Cumberland, Massena, Fontanelle, Greenfield, Orient, and Macksburg.
