Officers approached a red SUV that had towels and blankets hung from inside the vehicle blocking their view inside. They removed an adult male and female who were occupying the backseat area; they both allegedly claimed that a bomb was inside. Several additional law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and helped evacuate the immediate area. The scene was rendered safe after a thorough search of the vehicle by bomb technicians from the Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Device Units and a Chautauqua County Sheriff's K-9 unit. Fredonia Police add that a pellet/BB gun was being used to honk the vehicle's horn, and that there was no shotgun located in the vehicle.
