With more rain in forecast, Flood Watch issued for Topeka and vicinity
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - With more rain in the forecast, the National Weather Service office in Topeka has issued a Flood Watch for much of northeast and east-central Kansas. The Flood Watch is scheduled to be in effect from 5 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning in Shawnee, Douglas, Franklin, Geary, Lyon, Morris, Osage, Wabaunsee, Jackson, Jefferson, Pottawatomie and Riley counties.
OP native Leanne Wong will go to Paris Olympics as gymnastics alternate
It isn’t the spot gymnast Leanne Wong of Overland Park wanted on the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team. Fast: Woodie Seat will be open for awhile
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Mayor Greg Fast noted that though phase one of the Woodie Seat project is done, there will be more to do in the coming years. Extra Great Bend Fire Dept. staff available for the 4th of July
Great Bend Fire Chief Brent Smith is thankful for the moisture the area has received but would not mind a little more prior to the 4th of July holiday. The Great Bend Fire Department will have extra staff on hand for the fireworks extravaganza throughout the holiday.
