AUBURN — Auburn athletics is set to have some representation in the 2024 Olympics.

There are 10 current and former Auburn athletes who will soon compete in a number of sports in Paris. Suni Lee, who spent two seasons with Auburn gymnastics and won a national title on beam on the way to helping the program to its first Final Four in 2022, will represent the United States as a gymnast.

Tim Puetz (Germany) will participate in men's tennis, Emily Hallifax (France) in diving and Marcelo Chierighini (Brazil) and Valerie Tarazi (Palestine) in swimming. The group is rounded out by Kanyinsola Ajayi (Nigeria) and Favour Ashe (Nigeria) in the men's 100m & 4x100m relay, Makanakaishe Charamba (Zimbabwe) in the men's 200m, Azeem Fahmi (Malaysia) in the 100m and Donald Thomas (Bahamas) in the men's high jump.

Ajayi, Ashe, Charamba and Fahmi all currently attend Auburn, and Hallifax is an incoming freshman. The others — Lee (2021-23), Chierighini (2010-13), Puetz (2007-10), Tarazi (2018-23) and Thomas (2006-07) — are former Auburn athletes.

The Olympics will begin July 26 and end August 11. For a full schedule of when the 10 Auburn-related athletes will be competing, click here.
