Auburn has 19 high school commitments in its 2025 recruiting class with 10 projected to play on defense.

Needless to say, there is still work to be done before the early signing period begins in December.

What is left for Auburn on defense in the 2024 class? Who are the top recruits at each position and what are Auburn’s chances with each?

The Hot Board has the answers.

Below are the recruits I believe are the top targets at each position and my guesses at Auburn’s chances of signing them. Keep in mind, the percentages are Auburn’s chances against the field.

    Defensive line (3-4)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
Jourdin Crawford (4) Birmingham, Ala. AU AU
Malik Autry (4) Opelika, Ala. AU AU
Antonio Coleman (4) Saraland, Ala. 6/7 ALA/40% AU
    Zavion Hardy (4) EMCC (JUCO) 35% 30%
    Walter Mathis (3) Savannah, Ga. 6/10 20% 20%
    Floyd Boucard (3) Miami, Fla. 25% OK/15%
    Nate Marshall (4) Oak Park, Ill. 6/7 MICH/15% MICH/15%
    Javeon Campbell (4) Frankfort, Ky. 6/10 UK/15% UK/15%

Auburn on Saturday added Coleman back to the class, flipping him for the second time from Alabama. The Tigers might still try and add one or two more here, but the main focus will be keeping Crawford, Autry and Coleman committed until signing day.

    Buck linebacker (2)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
    Jared Smith (4) Alabaster, Ala. 9/27 70% 75%
    Zion Grady (4) Enterprise, Ala. 6/10 OSU/25% OSU/45%
    Herbert Scroggins (4) Savannah, Ga. 6/14 MIA/35% MIA/35%

Smith will announce his commitment on Aug. 3 with a final group of Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, USC, Georgia and Ole Miss. I like where Auburn stands as of today. Grady is committed to Ohio State, but was at Big Cat on Saturday. I think Auburn is closing the gap on the Buckeyes.

    Linebackers (2-3)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
Jakaleb Faulk (4) Highland Home, Ala. 6/14 AU AU
    Tyler Lockhart (4) Winona, Miss. 6/7 40% 60%
    Darrell Johnson (4) Eastman, Ga. 6/14 ALA/40% ALA/30%
    Elijah Melendez (4) Kissimmee, Fla. 5/31 MIA/35% MIA/25%
    Christian Jones (4) Omaha, Neb. 6/7 25% 15%

Faulk is committed and Auburn appears to be in a great spot to get Lockhart back in the class. He visited for Big Cat, but more importantly, his mother was with him. The Tigers are once again trending in the right direction for him.

    Cornerbacks/Nickels (4-6)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
Devin Williams (4) Buford, Ga. 6/14 AU AU
Dante Core (3) Fort Walton Beach, Fla. 6/14 AU AU
Donovan Starr (4) Brentwood, Tenn. 6/4 AU AU
Blake Woodby (4) Baltimore, Md. 5/31 95% AU
    Na’eem Offord (5) Birmingham, Ala. 5/31 OSU/35% OSU/45%
    Shamar Arnoux (3) Carrollton, Ga. 6/14 USC/40% USC/45%

Woodby committed on Saturday and the Tigers made up ground on both Offord and Arnoux.

    Safeties(2-3)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
Eric Winters (4) Enterprise, Ala. 6/14 AU AU
    Anquon Fegans (4) Alabaster, Ala. 9/27 90% 95%
Rasean Dinkins (3) Warner Robins, Ga. GT/20% GT/15%
    Martels Carter (4) Paducah, Ky. UK/15% UK/15%
    Tae Harris (4) Cedartown, Ga. CLEM/15% CLEM/15%

Auburn has a commitment from Winters and continues to be the overwhelming favorite for Fegans, who will announce his commitment Monday at 6 p.m. CT. The Tigers could add him and be done here.

    Athlete (1)

Name (star rating) Hometown OV Previous Current
Bryce Deas (3) Baltimore, Md. 9/14 AU AU

Deas is a big-time athlete who could play multiple positions on defense. He was a huge standout at camp, received an offer and committed the next day.
