NEW RPM PREDICTION: Auburn to flip ACC WR commit

Auburn offered Sam Turner June 26 and quickly made a surge in his recruitment. Turner has been committed to Georgia Tech since June 9, but the Tigers have come on strong. I think the Tigers will flip Turner in due time.

I have added an RPM pick with 60 percent confidence in favor of Auburn to flip wide receiver Sam Turner.

Turner is the No. 486 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 78 wide receiver, and the No. 52 player in the state of Georgia according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Auburn made a move at Big Cat

“They definitely did,” he said. “It’s the people, the culture and atmosphere. The culture here is just different. You can sense it as soon as you walk in from the coaching staff, from the players, from the community, it’s different.”

A big reason for Auburn’s climb is wide receivers coach Marcus Davis.

“What stands out about him is his faith,” he said. “He leads on faith. That’s big for me and my family. That’s what he preached today and the culture. Just the tradition and trying to build on that. He said Coach (Hugh) Freeze has produced a lot of receivers like Van Jefferson and DK Metcalf and Laquon Treadwell, Elijah Moore. It’s a place of development for receivers and I believe that.”

Auburn signed the top wide receiver class in 2024 and appears set to make the passing game more of a priority this fall.

“It’s a big deal,” he said. “I like the faith part and they’re going to throw the ball. You’ve probably got five receiver guys as coaches from the OC (Derrick Nix) to the head coach, the head guy (Davis), the assistant receiver coach was the OC at Jackson State (Maurice Harris). There’s a lot of like-minded guys on the offensive staff.”

Up next for Turner is a final decision. He either will stick with Georgia Tech or flip his commitment to Auburn. He plans to have his choice before school starts on Aug. 8.

“I’m going to go home and think about it,” he said. “I should have a decision before the season starts.

“It’s hard, but it’s a great place to be in. I’m very thankful and grateful to be in the position I’m in today. It’s a hard decision, it’s not the next four years; it’s the next 40. It’s a big decision.”
