Auburn Football Recruiting Hot Board: Defense

Auburn has 21 high school commitments in its 2025 recruiting class with 11 projected to play on defense.

Needless to say, there is still work to be done before the early signing period begins in December.

What is left for Auburn on defense in the 2024 class? Who are the top recruits at each position and what are Auburn’s chances with each?

The Hot Board has the answers.

Below are the recruits I believe are the top targets at each position and my guesses at Auburn’s chances of signing them. Keep in mind, the percentages are Auburn’s chances against the field.

Defensive line (3-4)

Auburn on Saturday added Coleman back to the class, flipping him for the second time from Alabama. The Tigers might still try and add one or two more here, but the main focus will be keeping Crawford, Autry and Coleman committed until signing day. Darrion Smith is a new name to the board. Auburn offered him earlier this week. He’s teammates with Auburn commitments Blake Woodby and Bryce Deas.

Buck linebacker (2)

Smith will announce his commitment on Saturday with a final group of Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, USC, Georgia and Ole Miss. I like where Auburn stands heading into the announcement. Grady is committed to Ohio State, but was at Big Cat on Saturday. I think Auburn is closing the gap on the Buckeyes.

Linebackers (2-3)

Faulk is committed and Auburn appears to be in a great spot to get Lockhart back in the class. He visited for Big Cat, but more importantly, his mother was with him. The Tigers are once again trending in the right direction for him.

Cornerbacks/Nickels (5-6)

Woodby committed on Saturday and the Tigers have made up ground with both Offord and Arnoux.

Safeties(2)

Auburn has commitments from Winters and Fegans and could be done here.

Athlete (1)

Deas is a big-time athlete who could play multiple positions on defense. He was a huge standout at camp, received an offer and committed the next day.
