LSU aiming to flip a recent Michigan football commitment
Rankings are important. But they don't tell the whole story and in the 2025 class, one of my favorite commitments for Michigan football is Phillip Wright, who just happens to be one of the lowest-ranked commitments for the Wolverines as of right now. Wright has been moving up though. He...

Sprong Signs With Vancouver For Half as Much
Former Red Wings forward Daniel Sprong was considered the most desirable player still in the free agent market and yet he didn’t benefit much from that status. Sprong signed with the Vancouver Canucks for one year at $975,000 — that’s a salary cut from the $2 million he earned last season with the Red Wings. Based on his 18 goals and 43 points last season, AFP Analytics projected Sprong might get a two-year deal worth $2.5 million this season.
Last year, I picked Michigan football to win it all. This year? It won't win the Big Ten.
Before anybody in the Ann Arbor area gets too offended by what they're about to read, I have to establish my bona fides. That's right: Last summer, I was bold enough to predict Michigan football would win the College Football Playoff come January. Lucky guess? Probably. There was logic behind...
Jackson Jobe looms as Reese Olson’s injury compounds the Tigers rotation problems
Saturday’s victory over the Toronto Blue Jays continued a very good run for the Detroit Tigers in July. They’re now a game below .500 and just five games out of a wild card spot with 63 games to play. We should be feeling pretty good. Instead, Reese Olson came out of the game after two innings with what is reported as right shoulder soreness. That could be all sorts of issues from minor inflammation to a major injury that ends his season. Either way, it presents a real problem for the organization right now.
