MIDLAND, Mich. (WNEM) - After two years of competing, a mid-Michigan native is the latest winner of a high school musical theatre award hundreds compete for. Gretchen Shope, a recent graduate of H.H. Dow High School and Midland native, won a Jimmy Award in June for her role as Alice in Alice by Heart at the Wharton Center. The award is the equivalent of a Tony for high school students.
