Pregame Blitz: How Texas A&M-Notre Dame match up
All eyes will be on the revamped offensive line that has added juniors Ar’maj Reed-Adams and Kolinu’u Faaiu through the transfer portal. Reed-Adams will start at right guard and Faaiu is battling sophomore Mark Nabou at center. The left side has junior Trey Zuhn III at tackle and sophomore Chase Bisontis at guard. Bisontis entered the transfer portal briefly at end of the regular season last season, but adds to the unit’s depth that has upperclassmen Dametrious Crownover and Reuben Fatheree II battling at right tackle. The line figures to help A&M improve on last season’s 136.2 yards per game rushing to rank 90th, but how much more? This game will be a great indicator. Notre Dame allowed only 119 ypg rushing last season to rank 26th. Notre Dame defensive end Howard Cross III (66 tackles) was an All-American last season and along with lineman Rylie Mills (47 tackles), were reasons the team allowed only 276.3 ypg to rank fifth in the country. Duke senior transfer R.J. Oben has played in 50 games with 33 starts. The end had 17 tackles last season, five of them sacks and six quarterback pressures. EDGE: NOTRE DAME.
