Sharing what he’s been up to in the 20 years since he dropped “Tipsy,” J-Kwon jokingly said, “getting high,” before delving into his money-making endeavors and various businesses, including a record label, clothing line, and a sock brand he’s currently working on with Hanes, about which he noted “let's hope that work out well, if not another prospect.”

Going on to discuss Shaboozey ’s chart topping hit that features J-Kwon’s “Tipsy” lyrics in its chorus, Kwon shared, that the musician was the one that reached out, “but Tina Davis is the one who really put it all together.” Calling the Empire Distribution President his “mom in the game.”

“It almost didn't happen,” J-Kwon admitted, reluctantly revealing the reason was because “the percentages was kind of too low for me… So once we worked that out, it happened. And what, I think we six weeks at number one.” The first week of which happened after he was “busy coming out the floor on top of the bar at the BET Awards.”

With Shaboozey naming J-Kwon as one of his influences growing up, Shae Bae asked J to share one of his. “Is it safe to say this right now?,” he asked before revealing it to be Kanye West , though he referred to him using his new moniker, Ye.

“Ye is Walt Disney, you know Ye is crazy with it,” J-Kwon said, “so when I had the backing from Ye, it was… pressure… That was a big for me.”

J-Kwon also went on to talk about his relationship with Nelly , and share a huge announcement for his record label Hood Hop Music, as well as what he has on the way in 2024, plus a whole lot more.
