After first diving deep into the vault offering up new Linkin Park material with late singer Chester Bennington , the band began teasing fans with a 100-hour countdown starting on Saturday, August 24 on their social media pages , YouTube , and website followed by a message to "be part of something" on September 5 -- freshly stoking reunion rumors once again amid questions about what else could be on the way. Following the rabbit trail, that "something" happened to be a secret event that a small number of lucky fans got to be a part of today.

No, Sum 41 's Deryck Whibley is not joining the group as he so helpfully pointed out .

Actually, after all of the anticipation, Mike Shinoda , Brad Delson , Dave 'Phoenix' Farrell , and Joe Hahn revealed their new single "The Emptiness Machine" alongside new members Emily Armstrong as co-vocalist and drummer Colin Brittain. The new track is the first offering from their first album since 2017, FROM ZERO , set for release on November 15. Pre-orders are available right HERE .

About the new era, Shinoda stated, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero . This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

Right out of the gate, “The Emptiness Machine” channels the DNA of Linkin Park, harnessing the band’s explosive energy and retaining the hallmarks of their instantly identifiable and inimitable sound. A chameleonic and catchy anthem, Shinoda’s hypnotic melodies hand off to Armstrong’s blistering chorus, over distorted riffs and head-nodding drums.

Shinoda elaborated, “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

Ultimately, with FROM ZERO , the band is looking to harness the purest energy of their past, present, and future. The new era has officially begun. Take a look at the official album art, tracklisting, and 2024 tour dates below. Grab your tickets HERE .

Linkin Park has been on a self-imposed "indefinite hiatus" ever since frontman Chester Bennington's passing in 2017. Four years ago, co-founder Mike Shinoda revealed to fans that there was archived material from their last album that Chester was featured on, explaining at the time that the band had mixed more than the finished album. He has since offered up the Bennington-fronted tracks "Friendly Fire" and "Lost" from the LP vault.

During his recent Audacy Check In , Shinoda told us he was hesitant to release old Linkin Park songs after Bennington’s death saying, “My instinct, in the beginning, was 'no.' Maybe I was a little unsure, but I was saying, 'it depended on what we find...' There's a whole album of demos that no one has ever heard, half of them have vocals on them, a handful of them are full-blown, finished songs."

We're going to keep an eye and ear out for further updates... In the meantime, listen to Linkin Park Radio and more on the free Audacy app
