Charli XCX has declared 'brat summer' over: 'Goodbye forever'

Charli XCX ’s brat album turned cultural phenomenon has spent the last few months influencing millions of posts, lots of dance moves, and even reached the heights of American politics. However, according to the originator herself, it’s officially time to bid brat summer adieu.

No doubt, our lives have all been blessed with the lime green, hyper-pop, greasy, brat summer vibes, but alas as of Labor Day, it’s not only time to pack away those white jeans, it’s also time to say “goodbye” to brat summer and make way for Sweat Tour fall.

“Goodbye forever brat summer,” Charli wrote on X, which she followed up with a torso pic of herself and Sweat Tour mate Troye Sivan , wearing white ribbed tanks that read “ABOUT F***ING TIME!”

Charli and Troye are set to hit the road on September 14, making stops in New York, Boston, Chicago, and Nashville and more, before wrapping up in Seattle on October 23.

While summer might be over for this hemisphere, that’s not the case for everyone. Charli’s post garnered responses from various parts of globe from those who aren’t ready to part ways with Charli’s lime green bratty behavior. “It’s our responsibility as Australians to create a Brat Summer," writes one fan. "Don't forget about South America," added another. As well as another adamant fan, stating, "brat summer is a state of mind, not a season.”

That being said, it seems Charli’s sights and socials are set on what’s next. Though ahead of making the farewell announcement, she did take to TikTok to note the season change, share her whereabouts (Poland), and reveal she might have one more remix up her sleeve. So at least there’s that.
