A tale as old as time itself: It's all fun and games until someone ruins the party by flying a drone into the stadium -- and such was the case during Green Day 's concert this week at Detroit's Comerica Park.

About 20 minutes into Green Day 's show on Wednesday, September 4 -- and right in the middle of their Dookie set -- someone chose to spoil the fun by illegally flying a drone into the 41k+ capacity baseball stadium. In case you missed it, federal law restricts drone flights at or below 3,000 feet above ground level within a 3-nautical mile radius of any stadium with a seating capacity of 30,000 people or more.

"There was an individual that flew a drone into Comerica Park, so Green Day was taken off stage," Detroit PD Cpl. Dan Donakowsk i told The Detroit News . "Shortly after that, they went back on stage to perform. DPD located this individual outside of Comerica Park. He is being detained pending further investigation."

As you can see in the fan-shot video above, a stagehand runs out to tell the band that they needed to exit the stage, first grabbing bassist Mike Dirnt which caught frontman Billie Joe Armstrong 's attention and caused him to sprint off stage leaving drummer Tré Cool in his dust. The crowd at that point was left unaware and kept singing long after the band was out of view.

A few minutes later a message was displayed on the stadium's video screens reading, "Show Pause. Please standby for details," and after about 10 minutes the band made their way back on stage. "How you guys doing? Everybody OK?" Billie Joe asked before picking up where they left off in the middle of "Longview," later telling the crowd, "There ain't no motherf***** that's gonna stop us, I'll tell you that!"

Green Day is currently on the North American run of their Saviors stadium tour bringing fans a massive setlist of hits, while also performing 1994's Dookie and 2004's American Idiot albums in full. Take a look at their remaining list of dates and grab your tickets HERE .
