The rocker is being praised for showing compassion to a distraught woman in Nashville on Tuesday afternoon (9/10) after he talked her off the literal ledge of a bridge in downtown Nashville where he happened to be shooting a music video.

JBJ can be seen in surveillance footage released by Metro Nashville Police department that shows him filming on the city’s Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge which overlooks the Cumberland River and downtown skyline. Shortly into the clip, JBJ is observed approaching a woman in a blue shirt standing on the other side of the railing and peering down at the river.

Gently approaching the woman with another member of his team, JBJ then helps her over to the safe side of the railing and talks to her for an extended period of time before they embrace one another with a hug. According to WKRN Nashville, authorities reported “several people walked by the woman before Bon Jovi and an acquaintance from his film crew approached her.” They also reported the woman agreed to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.
