Audrain County man convicted of being felon in possession of a firearm
An Audrain County man, charged in connection with a shooting three years ago, is convicted on one of those charges. The Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney says Trayvon Walls, 33, of Mexico, was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm yesterday. The trial was held from June 24 to the 26 and it took the jury 40 minutes to return with the verdict. Walls will be sentenced on August 5 and faces a minimum sentence of three years in prison and a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

An Audrain man was killed in Martinsburg on Tuesday after a utility pole broke during high winds and hit him. According to a press release, members of Audrain County Sheriff's Office were called in the late afternoon to investigate a report of an unresponsive man along Audrain Road 408. Medical personnel at the scene determined the man, Mike Ahrens, was dead at the scene of the incident.

SECOND UPDATE: According to the National Weather Service, some of the most severe damage in mid-Missouri was reported in both Audrain and Boone Counties. Large mature trees were reported down in Vandalia, with numerous trees blocking roads across Audrain County. In Laddonia, a roof was blown off a trailer.
