A Philadelphia man will spend 25 years behind bars for his role in two violent carjackings of food delivery workers.John Nusslein, 20, was sentenced in federal court on Wednesday.Prosecutors say Nusslein admitted to luring a 70-year-old delivery driver to a location in Northeast Philadelphia in 2021.He and two others then beat the man to death.Nusslein also pled guilty to carjacking another food delivery driver two weeks later.

Philadelphia is bracing for a sweltering day ahead, with the National Weather Service issuing a Heat Advisory that's pegged to last from this morning until 8 PM EDT tomorrow. Residents are warned of heat index values that could range from 98 to 103 degrees, putting parts of northern Delaware, central, northern, and southern New Jersey, as well as southeast Pennsylvania, under high heat stress. In line with the advisory, individuals are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, avoid sun exposure, and check in on vulnerable relatives and neighbors.

Air quality alert for 6 N.J. counties Thursday
An air quality alert was issued on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in effect until Thursday at 11 p.m. for Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone and Fine Particulates, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. Hot and humid conditions are expected on Thursday, along with ample sunshine and south-southwesterly winds. As a result, ozone levels will be able to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) category along the I-95 corridor and the northern New Jersey coast," says the National Weather Service.

Camden Man Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Fatal Hit and Run in South Brunswick
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Camden man has been sentenced for a fatal hit-and-run in South Brunswick, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Giovanni Gaines-Little, age 24, was sentenced to a total of 11 years in New Jersey State Prison and is subject to three years of parole upon release. On February 25, 2023, authorities responded to the intersection of Route 130 and Route 32 due to a motor vehicle crash. Police located Kerri Lynn Shea, age 43 of East Windsor, unconscious and entrapped in her car. Shea died from injuries sustained in the collision.CLICK HERE...

Three St. Joseph’s Academy students traveled to Camden, New Jersey, for a week of service. The experience is hosted by Romero Center Ministries, formerly a Franciscan convent now owned and run by St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral Parish. Once a thriving working-class community across the river from Philadelphia, Camden was devastated by the decline of the manufacturing industry and today suffers with high poverty, unemployment and crime rates. Romero Center Ministries grounds people in Jesus’ call to serve the poor.
