Air quality alert for 6 N.J. counties Thursday
An air quality alert was issued on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in effect until Thursday at 11 p.m. for Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone and Fine Particulates, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. Hot and humid conditions are expected on Thursday, along with ample sunshine and south-southwesterly winds. As a result, ozone levels will be able to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) category along the I-95 corridor and the northern New Jersey coast," says the National Weather Service.
Camden County to conduct mosquito spraying in multiple towns on Thursday and Friday
The Camden County Mosquito Control Commission will be conducting ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control spraying operations in several municipalities on Thursday, Aug. 1 and Friday, Aug. 2, between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting. Camden Man Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Fatal Hit and Run in South Brunswick
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Camden man has been sentenced for a fatal hit-and-run in South Brunswick, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Giovanni Gaines-Little, age 24, was sentenced to a total of 11 years in New Jersey State Prison and is subject to three years of parole upon release. On February 25, 2023, authorities responded to the intersection of Route 130 and Route 32 due to a motor vehicle crash. Police located Kerri Lynn Shea, age 43 of East Windsor, unconscious and entrapped in her car. Shea died from injuries sustained in the collision.CLICK HERE...
