GBCL awaits hearing in UPS appeal
The Greater Bustleton Civic League held a meeting to update members on the proposed UPS sorting facility planned for 1 Red Lion Road. Members listened to GBCL president Jack O’Hara and attorney Paul Toner, of Orphanides & Toner, who is handling the civic group’s appeal of zoning and building permits, issued by the city Department of Licenses and Inspections.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are stepping up their presence in high-traffic areas to reduce traffic collisions and fatalities.They say they have seen an increase in accidents and fatalities since 2020 and they are trying to decrease it. Officers will be cracking down on aggressive driving, including speeding and disregarding traffic signals.Their traffic enforcement will focus on Aramingo Avenue between Somerset Street to Frankfort Creek and Island Avenue between Bartram and Woodland avenues. A Medford builder is seeking preliminary approval to build 19 homes on nearly 26 acres of mostly wooded property between Elbo Lane and Cemetery Road in Mount Laurel. Unruly passenger from New Jersey wreaked havoc on American Airlines flight: Feds
An unruly passenger from Burlington County, New Jersey, is facing charges after investigators say he engaged in disruptive, life-threatening behavior while on an American Airlines flight.It happened back on July 18 on the Seattle-Dallas American Airlines flight #2101.According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Utah, the flight had to be diverted to Salt Lake City after Eric Nicholas Gapco, 26, of Delanco, NJ, assaulted and intimidated a flight attendant and aircraft crew members.Gapco allegedly refused to stay seated, propositioned a flight attendant for sex, vaped on the aircraft, and even attempted to open the plane's exterior door multiple times on the flight, authorities said.In addition to allegedly being loud and bothersome to other passengers, authorities say Gapco locked himself in the bathroom before he was restrained by the flight crew.Gapco was arrested at the Salt Lake City International Airport.He is being charged with interference with a flight crew, and attempted damage to an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States.Gapco was scheduled to make an initial appearance on August 1 in Salt Lake City.
