It’s time to head back to the polls Tuesday to decide runoff races in Augusta and Columbia County.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting and absentee voting are closed.

Augusta voters have two races to decide:

    • The Democratic candidates for sheriff. Incumbent Richard Roundtree faces Eugene “Gino Rock” Brantley.
    • In the race for Superior Court Judge for the Augusta Judicial Circuit, Charles Lyons and Matt Matson are vying to replace retiring Judge Danny Craig.

Columbia County voters will decide the Republican nominee for Georgia House District 131 seat between Rob Clifton and Paul Abbott. They want to replace Rep. Jodi Lott who did not see re-election.

In both counties, voters can vote in the runoff, even if they did not vote in the primary election.

Since the two races in Augusta are countywide, voters can cast their ballot at their regular polling place.

In Columbia County, polling places for the runoff election will be the established precincts for Georgia House District 131.

In Augusta, you can vote in the runoff even if you didn’t vote in the May 21 primary. However, if you did vote, how you voted in the primary election determines what ballot you will receive for the runoff. If you:

    • Voted Democratic, you can either vote Democratic or Nonpartisan.
    • If you voted Republican, you only vote Nonpartisan.
    • If you voted Nonpartisan, you can either vote Nonpartisan or Democratic.
    • If you are eligible to vote, but did not, you can vote either Democratic or Nonpartisan.
