Man wanted by RCSO for Aggravated Assault

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A man is wanted by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office for Aggravated Assault.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Russell Lee Fortner, Jr., 45, is wanted in reference to an Aggravated Assault that happened on April 21st, 2024 on the 3400 block of Milledgeville Road.

Fortner is described to be 5’11” and weighing 175 pounds.

According to the incident report, the victim states that he attempted to break up an altercation between the witness and Fortner, but that resulted in an altercation between the victim and Fortner, in which Fortner allegedly threatened to kill the victim.

The incident report states that Fortner then got in his vehicle, made a circle on the property, and then, drove his vehicle into the victim’s golf cart that the victim was sitting in twice resulting in the golf cart being pushed back 10 feet backwards and turned on its side.

Authorities say that Fortner was in possession of a blue pick up truck that authorities say is believed to have been stolen.
