    Aggravated Assault suspect wanted after shooting on McNutt Way in Augusta

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating an Aggravated Assault suspect.

    The victim told police that Derrick Gene Kilgore knocked on her door and he shot her.

    The incident happened July 7th on the 1000 bock of McNutt Way in Augusta.

    Reports say a witness asked the 40-year-old suspect why he was shooting and he replied, “he felt like shooting.”

    The witness told police that Kilgore and his wife left in a dark blue Durango.

    The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
