    Richmond County School System registration opens to new families for 2024-2025 school year

    AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County School System (RCSS) is reminding parents and guardians of registration as the new school year approaches next month.

    The first day of school for Richmond County elementary schools is Monday, August 5. Middle, K-8, magnet and high schools begin Tuesday, August 6.

    Marcus Allen, assistant superintendent of Support Services, said the school system is looking forward to welcoming new families and helping them prepare.

    “With the first day of school coming up, we encourage parents and guardians to register early so our educators and staff can prepare to receive students,” he said.

    According to the school system, there are limited openings available in the pre-kindergarten program for Blythe, Lamar-Milledge and Jenkins-White Elementary schools.

    Families of new or transferring student can register online. Staff will be available at schools from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays through July 26 to answer questions about the registration process. Onsite registration at the schools begin July 31 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
