Motorcyclist dies after colliding with truck in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — A motorcyclist is dead after colliding into a truck Sunday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Police Department. Officials say Nickolous Nikitas was traveling at a high rate of speed on a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle on Highway 53 when he crashed into a Ford truck that was turning left into a parking lot on Western Boulevard.

CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) — A fourteen-year-old is “seriously hurt” and a woman is injured after a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning in Clayton. Around 3 a.m., officers with the Clayton Police Department said they were dispatched to a person suffering from a gunshot wound near Pond Street and Durham Street. A short time later, officers responded to an additional call of a gunshot victim near Joyner Street, they said.
