Oregon authorities recover body of award-winning chef who drowned in river accident
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon authorities said Wednesday that they have recovered the body of award-winning chef Naomi Pomeroy following her drowning in a river accident. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said it located her body Wednesday morning in the Willamette River between Corvallis and Albany after canoers saw it and called 911.

Police: 2 motorcyclists fire into air near officers investigating motorbike theft in Salem
SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - The second of two suspects in a Salem shooting last week was arrested on Wednesday, according to the Salem Police Department. According to police, while officers were investigating a motorcycle theft at a storage facility in the 1800 block of 22nd Street Southeast on July 11, two motorcycle riders drove up nearby. Police said one of the two motorcyclists fired a gun into the air in plain view of the officers, then both sped away.

Second large fire breaks out at Nortland Portland metal recycling plant
Portland firefighters have now battled two large fires at a metal recycling plant in North Portland in just over a year. The most recent fire broke out at the Radius Recycling facility near 12000 North Lombard Street at around 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
