Second large fire breaks out at Nortland Portland metal recycling plant
Portland firefighters have now battled two large fires at a metal recycling plant in North Portland in just over a year. The most recent fire broke out at the Radius Recycling facility near 12000 North Lombard Street at around 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17. Argument ends in gunfire in downtown Portland, police say
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Police Bureau says an argument led to gun violence in the Old Town area early Thursday morning. At about 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at West Burnside Street and Southwest 4th Avenue. Police say an argument between two men escalated into a physical fight, then one of them shot the other one.

It was the remains of a street fight that happened a few nights before when someone intentionally lit it on fire in an act of retaliation, homeless people there told a KGW crew.
Man dies from bike fall in Southwest Portland
A bicyclist has died of injuries sustained in a fall in the Multnomah Neighborhood. According to the Portland Police Bureau, the victim is Gad Alon, 74. Emergency medical services were called to the fall at Southwest Capitol Highway and Southwest Florida Street at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, July 6. Police were not called because there was no indication of a crime or a crash involving anyone else. Police said Alon died in a hospital on July 17, 11 days after the fall. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the medical examiner. The death was the 35th traffic related fatality for 2024 in the city of Portland. Father and son missing after boat capsizes near Astoria
ASTORIA Ore. (KPTV) - A Camas family of seven is mourning the loss of a father and son after they were lost at sea during a fishing trip over the weekend. The Coast Guard said they searched for 43-year-old Constantin Leahu and 11-year-old Andrei Leahu after their boat capsized near Astoria on Saturday, but they are yet to be found.
