The Rudder girls volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s team academic award for the 16th straight year. The Lady Rangers had a 3.64 grade-point average. The AVCA’s minimum is 3.3. Rudder, under veteran coach Jacky Pence, has earned the award every year since the school opened. Man drowns after saving child in Fort Worth river
A man in Fort Worth died Sunday while trying to save a child from drowning in a river near Gateway Park. The Fort Worth Fire Department told NBC 5 that a middle-aged man jumped into the river to rescue a child around Gateway Park Mile Marker GW140.
