How Texas A&M Law master’s program became one of nation’s most robust
It’s part of Texas A&M University School of Law’s story to rise up in the ranks and expand. In the past five years, the school’s Master of Legal Studies’ enrollment increased by more than tenfold. There were around 100 students in 2019. Now, there are 1,100, making it one of the top master’s programs in terms of enrollment nationwide, according to the law school.
Four Dallas firefighters injured after fire truck crashes off highway onto DART tracks
DALLAS, Texas — Four Dallas firefighters were injured after a fire truck drove off Interstate 345 onto DART tracks below the roadway, officials said. The incident occurred just after 6 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 345 and South Good Latimer Expressway. The four firefighters were transported to Baylor University Medical Center and are in stable condition, officials said.

Dallas police investigate early morning fatal shooting
DALLAS, Texas - A man was found shot and killed early Sunday morning in Dallas, police say. On July 21, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of W. Pentagon Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Patrick Lee Island II lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but Island was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and will be documented under case number 111594-2024. A Century of History Eradicated: Texas Megachurch Destroyed in Fire
The red brick walls of First Baptist Dallas Church's historic sanctuary are soot-singed and intact, but only devastation and ashes are found within. At 6:05 pm, the Dallas Fire-Rescue received a call for 1717 San Jacinto street in the heart of downtown Dallas. A second alarm was requested at 6:20 pm. The fire was contained until 7:35 pm when the roof partially collapsed and a third alarm was called. Finally, a fourth alarm was called at 8:14 pm, according to CBS5 News.
Wichita Falls Fire Department pays tribute to fallen firefighters
The Wichita Falls Fire Department held its 40th anniversary memorial service Friday at the Wichita Falls Public Safety Training Center to honor the department's fallen.
