FIRST ALERT: Heat wave ends as frontal system arrives
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Good morning NCWV! We still have this heat wave to deal with for today with high temperatures still in the low to mid 90s in the lowlands and the mid to high 80s in the higher elevations. Fortunately we have this frontal system moving into our area and start to cool us down as soon as we get into the late afternoon and evening bringing us rainfall and storms. Unfortunately however, these storms do have the potential to be severe today, with damaging winds being the main concern with wind gusts forecasted for up to 45MPH. There are also a few chances for hail, but those chances remain unlikely. These rain showers and storms will carry on throughout tomorrow as well and are forecasted to be less severe with the only concern being once again those damaging winds which are forecasted to get up to 35MPH. It’s not all bad however, with those high temperatures dropping all the way down to the low to mid 80s in the lowlands and the mid to high 70s for the higher elevations. Daniel Niemasz has all of this and more on your First Alert Forecast.
