West Virginia fills roster needs with transfers on defense
West Virginia needed to address defensive spots across the roster through the transfer portal and the program has accomplished that with some quality additions. In the secondary, Duquesne cornerback transfer Ayden Garnes is a player that the coaching staff got a good look at when they squared off against him this past fall when he recorded 4 tackles and had a pass breakup without allowing a reception in his coverage. That made him a priority when he entered into the portal.
Giants Take WVU Baseball Pitcher, Capping Historic Draft for West Virginia
One final WVU baseball player was drafted on Tuesday. The San Francisco Giants selected Tyler Switalski in the 16th round of the 2024 MLB Draft with pick No. 478. In his lone season as a Mountaineer, Switalski went 5-3 with a 5.10 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 67.0 innings pitched.

To become a Maniac, students must register online for one of two membership types. Basic Membership, which costs $25 annually, includes a Maniacs tee shirt, watch party invitations, Olympic sports giveaways, away basketball and football trip invitations and a 20% discount at the Book Exchange. The Ultimate Membership costs $50 annually and offers the same benefits but guarantees football tickets.

Pittsburgh schools earmark $52,000 to address racism in math

Brooks Hall elevator closures planned
The elevators in Brooks Hall will be closed and nonoperational from Monday (July 22) to July 26. This is a scheduled outage to replace damaged equipment. The work is not anticipated to extend beyond July 26. Brooks Hall will remain open as scheduled during this time. See summer building hours.
