    2 Austell Men Accused of Intent to Murder

    Ngozi Bayete, 17, of Austell, and Tevis Shurn, 19, of Austell, are accused of intent to murder on July 12 at 2:10 p.m. at a phone repair store in a shopping center at 5220 Austell Road in Austell, according to arrest warrants from the Austell Police Department.

    Bayete is accused of pulling a firearm and pointing it directly at the victim as he walked up to the man. The victim tried to defend himself and a fight ensued. The victim was struck by gunfire two times in his left hip and leg area. Shurn was seen inside the store with Bayete during the incident. Shurn then fled on foot and made an attempt to change clothes to disguise himself, according to the warrants.

    Bayete and Shurn are both charged with aggravated assault – intent to murder. Shurn was arrested on July 12 at 3 p.m. and Bayete was arrested on July 12 at 4 p.m. Both men were booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.

    Bayete and Shurn remain in custody without bond.
