The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a new disturbance with a split chance of development over the next seven days, according to the latest advisory.

Since Hurricane Debby formed, two tropical waves have emerged over the tropical Atlantic; the first has already dissipated.

The new disturbance, located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands — the same area where Hurricane Beryl originated — has the potential to develop as it approaches the Lesser Antilles early next week.
