Stuck in your student housing with nothing to do? Don’t despair, because Longhorn City Limits is here to quell your homesick blues with a hearty dose of burnt orange! This free live music concert presented by Still Austin Whiskey Co. will launch the Forty Acres into football season on the afternoon of UT's first home game versus Colorado State.

Midland and West 22nd kick off free tailgate with live tunes

Season six of Longhorn City Limits will be headlined by country music trio Midland, with an opening set from rising indie rock band West 22nd. Music starts at 11 a.m. at the LBJ lawn with five-piece West 22nd. The band formed in UT's West Campus only two years ago, but is already slated to perform at Austin City Limits Music Festival in October. Midland is a band from Dripping Springs whose debut album "On the Rocks" earned a Grammy-nomination. Their third album "Barley Blue" is set to release Sep. 20.

Drinks and eats to beat the summer heat

Students 21-and-over can beat the heat with signature drinks at the Still Austin Music Lounge, including a special Horns Up Bourbon Lemonade, and score limited-edition swag. The Tito’s Tailgate will also be making its return in front of the LBJ fountain with their own cocktails on tap. This season also sports a new addition to the tailgate, with Pinkerton’s BBQ serving up smoked delights on the lawn every game day.
