Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants: Micah Parsons injury, CeeDee Lamb pops in ugly win

The Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the New York Giants on Thursday night football, scraping out a 20-15 win.

The Cowboys ' victory came at a cost, however. Both DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons exited the game with injuries with neither returning to the game. Parsons X-Rays were negative, and he was seen limping in the locker room after the game, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Here are some takeaways from Thursday's game:

    An ugly win

It wasn't pretty by any means. The Cowboys committed 11 penalties for 89 yards. They converted 3 of 10 third downs and the Giants' time of possession ended at 35:37 while the Cowboys had the ball for 24:23. The rushing game failed to crack 100 yards again and defensive back Andrew Booth had his ankles stolen from him by rookie receiver Malik Nabers.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones played perhaps his best game of the entire season, throwing for 281 yards on 29-of-40 attempts, yet it wasn't enough. The Cowboys still managed to walk out of MetLife Stadium with the win.

They had a chance to seal the deal with 32 seconds left, but Brandon Aubrey missed his first field goal from beyond 50 yards. Instead of collapsing and allowing a miracle drive, the Cowboys' defense locked down Daniel Jones, who threw up a prayer that was intercepted by defensive back Amani Oruwariye to end the game.

The Cowboys can't do this next week vs. the Steelers, though.

Micah Parsons injury: Who can replace him?

Parsons fell to the turf with an apparent lower leg injury in the fourth quarter. After getting some treatment in the medical tent, he left the field with the shoe on his left leg removed.

If he and Lawrence miss an extended period of time, Dallas will be incredibly thin at pass rusher with Sam Williams and Tyrus Wheat both out as well. The rotation on the edge of the defensive line without them would consist of 2021 third-round pick Chauncey Golston, rookie second-round pick Marshawn Kneeland and Carl Lawson, who was elevated from the practice squad for Thursday's game.

So, is there anyone that the Cowboys could sign off the street? Shaq Lawson is still a free agent if they want another Lawson, and old friend Randy Gregory could be looking for a job.

    Ceedee Lamb redemption

Ceedee Lamb has been relatively quiet to begin the season, but he found a spark vs. the Giants.

Lamb caught seven balls for 98 yards and a touchdown, accounting for almost half of quarterback Dak Prescott's total yards. Prescott finished the game with 221 yards and two touchdowns on 22 of 27 passing.

Prescott's completion percentage over expected was +14.7%, meaning that he wasn't getting much separation from his other receivers on Thursday night. With the run game being as lackluster as it has been, Lamb's importance in the Cowboys' offense becomes even more apparent.
