Texas A&M football recruiting: Helaman Casuga, a 4-star QB, commits to Aggies

COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M football snagged a big-time addition on the recruiting trail Thursday when four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga committed to the Aggies .

The 6-foot signal-caller from Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, chose the Aggies over USC and Washington. He's a top-15 quarterback prospect for the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports' composite rankings, and another recruit who could make a quick impact in College Station.

Casuga's class will come after A&M's 2025 group, which ranks No. 8 and to which coach Mike Elko and staff also received commitments from three-star receiver Tristan Norman out of Alabama and four-star athlete Noah Mikhail. A&M most recently received a pledge from four-star safety Rashad Johnson out of Florida in September, but its last impactful commitment on the offensive side of the ball before Casuga came in July from Kelshaun Johnson , a four-star athlete from Hitchcock who'll probably play wide receiver.

The Aggies' quarterback room has Conner Weigman, a potential NFL draft pick, Marcel Reed, Jaylen Henderson, Blake Bost, Paxton Land, Dallas Novicke, Dylan Mayers, Peyton Gray and Miles O'Neil, who signed with the program in the 2024 class.

They also have a commitment from 2025 quarterback Husan Longstreet, along with Casuga for 2026.

The Aggies will return from a bye week to play Saturday in Week 8 action against Mississippi State (1-5).
