In Your Community: Duplicate Bridge

As usual, duplicate bridge players showed up on Tuesday and Wednesday in Austin at the Mower County Senior Center to play Duplicate Bridge. Games start at 11:30 a.m., each day and players come from Mason City and Northwood, Iowa, Albert Lea, Rose Creek and Austin. Nine teams played both days this week.

Tuesday winners were:

First place, Paul Hanson and Dave Ring

Second place, Bill Momsen and Larry Crowe

Third place, John Leisen and Rick Stroup

Fourth place, Norm Blazer and Mike Leidal

Wednesday winners were:

First place, Dave Ring and Gail Schmidt

Second place, Bonnie Fritz and Tom Flaherty

Third place, Barb and Orrion Roisen

Fourth place, John Leisen and Rick Stroup

Table talk this week was about well wishes for one of our group from Mason City having double heart surgery which ended well.

Also, there’s been more interest in getting the younger generation informed of the benefits of this game to their lives as they age. More on that as it evolves.
